Course & Textbook Reserves

Information for Students

Reserves are items that faculty have given to the library so their students can use them on a short-term checkout. They may be textbooks or other supplementary materials. Checkout periods range from two hours to three days. These short-term checkouts allow many students to use the items when they need. To encourage students to return these items in a timely manner, we impose a $1 per hour late fee.

To see if there are reserve materials available for a certain class, use these links to search by course name or number, or to search by instructor name. If there is something available, make note of the call number and ask for the item at the circulation desk. The circulation staff will be happy to retrieve and check out the item.

Reserve items check out to members of the Fort Lewis College community only. A valid SkyCard must be presented at checkout. When returning reserve items, please place them in the reserve baskets at the circulation desk or give them to a circulation staff member.


Reed Library is closed due to COVID-19 precautions.
InterLibrary Loan and Prospector borrowing and lending of print materials are temporarily discontinued
while Reed Library is closed. Electronic borrowing and lending is still available, and all of our
electronic resources, chat, and virtual research appointments are still available.
