Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-thon
Monday, February 18, 2019
Join us for two Art+Feminism events sponsored by Reed Library:
March 12th at El Centro (Student Union Rm 40, lunch included) from 11 – 1pm
March 14th at the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (Reed Library 145) from 1 – 2:15pm for a communal updating of Wikipedia entries on subjects related to art and feminism
On March 12th, your friendly neighborhood Reed Librarians will introduce you to gender gap in Wikipedia, provide tutorials on editing Wikipedia articles for beginners, and help you add content and citations to articles about Latina/x artists. Bring your laptop, power cord, and a friend! Laptops are also available for check-out for FLC students at the Media Center in the basement of Reed.
On March 14th, we’ll have a deeper discussion on gender and Wikipedia and focus on editing articles on cis and trans women, and non-binary folks in the arts.
Come to one or both events! No need to stay the whole time, so feel free to drop by and check it out. We invite people of all gender identities and expressions to participate!
Art+Feminism is a campaign improving coverage of women, trans and non-binary folks, feminism and the arts on Wikipedia. To learn more about Art+Feminism’s initiative and how to get involved, visit http://www.artandfeminism.org/
