Therapy dogs at Reed Library April 15-24!
Friday, April 13, 2018
We know how stressful this time of the semester can be! We invite everyone from the campus community to join us in therapy dog visits.
(A recent dissertation from Washington State University – available in the library’s Dissertations database – found that students reported three positive themes from interacting with a therapy dog during stressful exam periods: 1) viewing the dog as a positive distraction, 2) praise for the tactile experience of petting the dog, and 3) general comfort from the presence of the dog. https://fortlewis.idm.oclc.org/login?url=https://search.proquest.com/docview/1979062869?accountid=27332)
