Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery(ILL)

ILL's mission is to obtain materials not available in our local collection or through our consortium, Prospector. Please check our resources before using Interlibrary Loan. Per policy we must cancel requests you can access or order yourself. In addition, you will help save funds that will puchase even more resources. If you are unsure how to use these local resources, please contact a Reference librarian or the ILL Crew for assistance.

How do I check my requests?

Most articles will be accessible electronically through ClioWeb. In addition to viewing and downloading these articles, ClioWeb can be used to check the status of your requests once they have been processed by the ILL Crew.

How long will it take to receive my requested item?

Requests are usually processed within one business day. Articles and book chapters sent over the internet may arrive in as little as 1 to 3 days. Delivery of books, CDs, and other physical items generally takes 7-10 business days. If you plan to request physical items, please take the delivery time into account. If it is too long for your needs, consider requesting articles.

How will I know when my item arrives?

If you are a FLC student/faculty member, you will be notified at your FLC email address. If you are a local community patron, you will be notified at the email address you provided at account creation. Articles are posted on our server where you can view, save, or print them. Physical items will be available at the Circulation Desk with a valid ID required for checkout.

Who can I contact if I have a question or problem?

If you have questions, contact Phyllis Kroupa at (970) 247-7233 or e-mail ill@fortlewis.edu . The Interlibrary Loan office, RL133, is open Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm. You can also contact a librarian at the Reference Desk in person, by phone (970) 247-7551 , and via chat from the library website.

When do I have to return a physical item?

Articles are yours to access for 60 days. Fines on overdue ILL books, DVDs, CDs, etc, will be assessed in a manner similar to books owned by Reed Library. The loan period will usually be three weeks from the date received, but media items may be less. Please pick items up as soon as possible after you are notified of their arrival because there are no renewals on ILL items. If you need a title longer, just re-order it a week or so before the due date.
