The mission of the Circulation Department is to provide helpful, professional service in making library materials available to the Fort Lewis College community and other library users. The goals of the Department are to promote circulation services to users, to provide excellent customer service, to upgrade services through the use of technology, and to efficiently manage library materials.
We provide the following Circulation services:
- Manage reserves for student use. Please see the John F. Reed Library Copyright Policy.
- Process faculty video requests to be viewed in classes.
- Check out books, media items, reserves, and materials ordered through Interlibrary Loan and Prospector.
- Supply Fort Lewis owned materials to other libraries through reciprocal interlibrary lending.
- Register students, faculty, and other library users for library and Interlibrary Loan borrowing privileges.
- Place holds on items that are checked out by another borrower.
- Recall materials checked out to faculty.
- Help locate materials in the stacks.
- Collect fines and clear up questions about your account.
- Direct questions to the appropriate department or person.
- Make change for copier machines.
