Reserve Information for Faculty

Reed Library offers faculty the opportunity to place various types of materials on reserve for student use. Faculty owned materials as well as items available at Reed Library may be placed on “physical reserve” for pick up at the Library Circulation Desk. Photocopies of printed materials will be made available online by placing them on “electronic reserve” i.e. “e-reserve”. It is important to note, however, that photocopied items must comply with copyright law. The John F. Reed Library Copyright Policy is available online.

NOTE: It is Reed Library's policy that all reproduced, copied, or scanned materials must be placed on Electronic Reserve rather than physical reserve, and that each reproduced item must be submitted with its own e-reserve citation form.

Materials Delivery

NOTE: We strongly encourage you to find the articles you use in our subscription databases. If you are able to access the information from these databases, you will never need to worry about copyright compliance as long as Reed Library continues to subscribe to the database. We can place a link through our e-reserves system directly to an article in a database. Write the article citation and database name on an E-reserves form and submit it.

You are encouraged to check the Course Reserves listing in the Library Catalog for the correct display and status of your materials. If changes are necessary, or you have any questions regarding the placement or removal of materials on reserve, please contact Bob Kimmick at 247-7588 or kimmick_b@fortlewis.edu.
