Previous Art in the Library winners:
The Well of Infinite Knowledge by Sara Swoboda - 2010-2011 Art in the Library winner.
Other current exhibits:
Displayed on the main floor in a case near the reference area of the Library are scale-defying "small" works by Amy Wendland and Jay Dougan.
The library is also showing two sculptures by Jay Dougan, Art Professor: Wooden Cog and Geo-Pod. These are located in the Periodicals Reading Room.

Along the wall next to the periodical collection are photographs on loan from the Adaptive Sports Association of Durango. The color photos highlight the impressive snowboard and ski activities of the community group.
Additionally, on view on the main level are display cases of regional Native American dress from the Center of Southwest Studies.
The Animas Museum shares part of their collection in a display of education related artifacts from the area, including several antique typewriters, rare objects showing an amazing contrast to our current ubiquitous computer technology! Textbooks and a writing slate from the same period are on display, as well as photos from the high school yearbook staff, including, by complete coincidence, our own Barbara Howard's mother. The photographs and display cases of this exhibit are located on the 2nd floor outside the Irene Beer's Study Room.
